In an effort to be more transparent with all of my commissioners, I've decided to do a weekly email update! Every one of my current commissioners will get this in an email, in addition to it being posted publicly here on my blog. This is just a short update overview to let you all know what I've been up to, so feel free to email me or check my Trello for more details! This update isn't going to change the way I usually operate or communicate with everyone; it's just an additional update!
If you don't see your own commission on here, that does not mean I've forgotten you, it just means your specific piece didn't get worked on that particular week. I tend to work in batches and jump around depending on how long people take to respond to my emails or if there are deadlines coming up, so some pieces may appear to "cut in line." If you're concerned about the status of your commission, just shoot me an email :)
Weekly update 1-29-2018
Last week's recap:
Blaze's reference sheet sketch was finalized, inked, and I worked on some more color concepts for the final design. Lockhart's reference sheet was inked, flat colored, and I'm in the tail end of shading it now. The deer illustration was traditionally sketched and should only need minor digital tweaks before sending it for approval. I turned two old sketches into prints I'll have for sale at Texas Furry Fiesta (check them out here and here). I got further on my table set up for TFF and ordered some much needed supplies for it. I edited and sent some designs to TJA Productions/Cats n Cameras to use for stock for people to get engraved on products to be available at TFF and future conventions.
This week's plan:
Complete all TFF badges. I'm going to be prioritizing work due at TFF this week because the con is so soon! Finalize Blaze's colors (pending design approval). Finish Lockhart's reference sheet. Ink the deer illustration (pending sketch approval). Complete Jolteon print design. Actually make the prints and matted prints for TFF stock. Complete TFF table set up. Hourly comic day on Thursday (time permitting). Daily sketches.
For the future:
I will be leaving for Texas Furry Fiesta by Wednesday, February 7. I don't anticipate being able to work on commissions on Monday or Tuesday of that week due to packing, but I will try. I'll be home from TFF by February 14; however, I have minor surgery on the 15th and I have no idea how that will affect my work schedule. I am hoping to get back to work quickly, as in a day or two, since it shouldn't affect my ability to draw at all. I'll keep my current commissioners updated though if anything changes.
And let me know if you like this update or think it's a waste of my time! This is sort of a trial run right now so I am open to suggestions on these weekly updates!
